The following is a typical list of items used by vintage base ball clubs. Variations due to the year and region being interpreted should be taken into account. It is typical for club members to obtain their own VBB clothing.

9 (min.) - player uniforms (men) consisting of:

shirt
trouser/pants/knickers
shoes (typically all-black or two-tone)
belt/suspender
cravat
cap/hat
umpire wardrobe consisting of:
top hat, straw hat or other appropriate head covering
appropriate coat
appropriate neckwear
period vest
dress shirt
trouser
shoes/boots
flask
pocket watch and chain
coin or flat rock for tossing
gentleman’s cane or walking stick
3 (min.) - canvas base bags

12 - stakes/fasteners for bases

sand/sawdust fill for bases

2 - one-foot dia. round metal plates with spikes, painted white, for home and pitcher

flour or chalk for marking lines

measuring rope, properly divided

reproduction bats

reproduction balls

carrying case/bag for bats and balls

tally book

tally table (folding wood table)

wood chairs or stools

tally bell (optional)

fine collection jar or bucket

score board/telegraph board

water buckets/jugs

metal drinking cups

metal scoop

ice chunks/water for drinking

baskets or sacks to carry valuables and conceal other 20th/21st century
items

manual/handbook(s) for players and sideline interpreters

souvenir program for cranks
