Children wait in line to take their turn at the bat. It’s “Children‘s Day” at the Sibley House Historic Site and the St. Croix Base Ball Club based out of Stillwater, Minnesota is not only giving some children their first opportunity to swing a wood bat, but quite a few had never swung any baseball bat until this event. This is the lawn of General Henry Hastings Sibley's house, the oldest standing civilian home in the state, and Sibley was the first president of the state base ball players association in 1867.
