Oakland University East Campus

Rochester, MI                            Map it

A permanent reminder of Oakland University’s history and the area's automotive industry, Meadow Brook Hall has been preserved as a cultural center and classroom for the university and the community. The former home of university benefactors, Alfred G. and Matilda Dodge Wilson, the 110-room Tudor Mansion was built 1926-1929 at a cost of $4 million. It is renowned for its craftsmanship, exquisite detailing and grand scale. Its 80,000 square feet has carefully preserved original furnishings and art, reflecting the lavish lifestyles of the American industrialists of the early 20th century. The mansion was constructed of brick, sandstone, wood timbers and a roof of clay shingle tile. 39 uniquely designed brick chimneys highlight the picturesque roofline. Meadow Brook Hall also serves as a laboratory for OU students studying history, art history and other disciplines.

Meadow Brook Hall is located off the I-75 Freeway. From the I-75 Freeway, take University Drive (Exit 79) east to Oakland University's main entrance.  Turn left at Squirrel Road.  Turn right at Walton Boulevard.   Turn right at Adams Road.  Turn right at the east campus entrance to Oakland University and follow the signs to Meadow Brook Hall.
